Visa processing procedures have been made faster and more transparent to encourage more Vietnamese students to select Canada as their study destination, according to Bill Johnston, Canadian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Last year, the Canadian government, in cooperation with the Canadian Education Center in Ho Chi Minh City, launched a national education campaign in Vietnam to increase the profile of Canadian education institutions.
Several Canadian education fairs will be held in both Hanoi and HCMC over the next three weeks to offer prospective students and their families the opportunity to meet with representatives from various Canadian education institutions.
Currently, some 2,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Canada in disciplines including economics, IT, media, and agriculture, said John James Ford from the visa department in the Canadian Consulate General.
